One month and up

Some villas are better taken by the season.

A week is a holiday. A month is somewhere you live for a while, and most owners price it differently, because an empty shoulder season is worth less to them than a long quiet let.

From one month. Three and six-month lets are common through the shoulder and winter seasons and that is what the rate tables show: the weeks nobody fights over are the ones owners would rather fill with one long quiet let.

Rates
Set by the owner against the season and the length of stay, so there is no published long-stay price. We come back with real figures for real dates.

Weekly rates as a share of each villa’s own peak week; the median across them. A shape, not a price: your long-stay figure is agreed against it.

Who takes them

A fairly consistent set of reasons.

Long lets are a different enquiry from a summer week, and they come from a fairly consistent set of reasons.

  • A winter worked somewhere with light in it
  • A season out of the city, with the family and the school run moved
  • The months between homes, while you look properly
  • A sabbatical, a book, a recovery, a rebuild
  • Somewhere to sit out the worst of a British February

What to tell us

The more you give us, the shorter the shortlist.

Long stays are matched by hand rather than filtered, availability at this length rarely shows in a calendar.

  • 01Roughly when, and roughly how long: exact dates can come later
  • 02Where, or which two or three places you're weighing up
  • 03How many of you, and whether anyone is working or at school
  • 04A monthly budget, even a rough one: it changes the shortlist more than anything else

Ask about a long stay

Tell us the season you have in mind.

Use the form, or write to us if it’s easier to explain in your own words. Exact dates can come later: the season and the length are enough to start the shortlist.

We are asked for these at booking, and some villas price by who is travelling. Leave blank if everyone is 18 or over.
