Numerous water sports options are available on the beach and there are copious sunbeds, even in high summer, for those needing them. Nearby Scopello meanwhile is a charming 13th century village, rooted in tuna fishing. Visitors can learn the history of this village’s famous trade and its fishermen, the tonnarotti. An evening stroll along the main street provides a small selection of cafes, bars and restaurants, where you can sample the local specialities including tuna carpaccio and grated tuna roe (bottarga).
